Bulgarian Ministry of Education Confirms Support for National Participation in the Global Forum

On 4 February 2019 in Sofia, representatives of the Organising Committee of the World Forum of the Best Teachers held an official meeting with Ms. Denitsa Sacheva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria, and Ms. Mimi Daneva, Head of the Ministry’s International Communications Department.

During the meeting, Ms. Sacheva expressed the Ministry’s official support for the Global Forum and confirmed Bulgaria’s readiness to collaborate with the Organising Committee.

She noted that the Bulgarian Union of Teachers is a trusted and respected partner, fully capable of selecting the country’s top educators and coordinating their participation in the forum’s in-person sessions across its international host cities.

The discussion also covered several key challenges currently facing Bulgaria’s education system, including:

  • attracting young professionals to the teaching profession,

  • modern skills required of today’s educators — such as digital literacy and critical thinking,

  • restoring the status and authority of teachers in the eyes of parents,

  • strengthening school–family partnerships,

  • addressing issues of cybersecurity and digital safety,

  • and improving the integration of students with special educational needs.

The Organising Committee sincerely thanks the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science for its open and constructive position and for its willingness to contribute to shaping the forum’s international agenda.
