On 13 June 2019, an online meeting was held between Evgeny Baranovsky, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the International Pedagogical Forum of the World’s Best Teachers, and Ms Ghada Abdelbary, Secretary-General of the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO.
The parties discussed the progress of preparations for the Global Forum of the World’s Best Teachers, noted the productive nature of their ongoing cooperation, and expressed their mutual interest in developing a long-term partnership.
The Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO has been actively supporting the Forum’s Organizing Committee. In particular, the Commission is involved in the selection of ten outstanding teachers from Egypt, contributes to the development of the Forum’s programme, and coordinates the participation of the Egyptian delegation.
The participants emphasized that the Forum is of importance not only to Egypt’s education system, but also to the African continent as a whole.
