On 12 February 2019, representatives of the Organising Committee of the World Forum of the Best Teachers held a meeting with Alicia-Leonor Sauli-Miklavčič, representative of the Community of Vocational Secondary Schools of the Republic of Slovenia — a national body focused on the development of vocational education.
During the meeting, key challenges related to teacher training in the vocational education sector were discussed. According to Ms. Sauli-Miklavčič, one of the most urgent issues is the lack of modern pedagogical competencies among vocational school instructors.
The Community expressed strong interest in collaborating with the Organising Committee, viewing the Global Forum as an opportunity to bring cutting-edge international knowledge and methodologies to Slovenian educators.
In addition, the Community offered its support in facilitating contacts with the business sector, which plays a critical role in shaping the demand for high-quality and modern education.
The Organising Committee appreciates this professional and constructive partnership and looks forward to welcoming Slovenian representatives from the vocational education sector to the international dialogue of the Global Forum.
