On 29 January 2019, during his ongoing European working tour, Evgeny Baranovsky, Chair of the Organising Committee of the World Forum of the Best Teachers, visited the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
Mr. Baranovsky held a meeting with Ms. Martina Stiffelová, Director of the Department for Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation, as well as with colleagues from the Department of International and European Cooperation and other ministry divisions.
The Slovak side expressed strong interest in the forum initiative and in the proposals presented by Mr. Baranovsky. In particular, he suggested the possibility of holding a sixth forum venue in Bratislava as part of the international event.
Ministry representatives welcomed the idea with enthusiasm and confirmed their willingness to facilitate a meeting between Mr. Baranovsky and the Government of Slovakia to discuss this proposal in greater detail.
In addition, the ministry officials informed Mr. Baranovsky about an upcoming national teachers’ conference being planned in Slovakia and extended an invitation for the Organising Committee to participate.
As part of the conference, a national selection process will be launched to identify Slovakia’s top teachers who will be recommended to participate in the World Forum of the Best Teachers.
The Organising Committee welcomes Slovakia’s openness to international collaboration and looks forward to the country’s active involvement in the 2019 edition of the forum.
