The Teachers Union of Namibia (TUN), an official partner of the World Forum of the Best Teachers, has submitted a list of Namibia’s top educators to take part in the forum, scheduled for 4–8 November 2019 across five global host cities.
TUN is one of the country’s most influential professional organisations, bringing together Namibian teachers and actively representing their interests before the Ministry of Education and national authorities.
In the face of growing educational commercialisation and limited public funding, teacher preparation and support remain among the most urgent challenges in Namibia’s education system. The nominated delegates are educators with deep, hands-on experience in addressing these complex issues.
In addition to its advocacy efforts, the Teachers Union of Namibia plays an important role in adult professional development and retraining programmes, including for educators working in rural and remote areas of the country.
The Organising Committee expresses its gratitude to TUN for its partnership and looks forward to the meaningful contributions of Namibian teachers to the global conversation on the future of education.
