On 28 November 2018, a meeting took place in Singapore between Konstantin Lazarev, representative of the Organising Committee of the World Forum of the Best Teachers, and Ms. Stella Yu, representative of the Ministry of Education of Singapore for international relations.
Mr. Lazarev presented the current progress in the organisation of the forum, including its international concept and the selection process for participants. The two sides discussed potential forms of partnership and collaboration with Singapore’s educational institutions.
Ms. Stella Yu expressed the Ministry’s support for the initiative and confirmed its willingness to assist the Organising Committee in building cooperation with Singaporean teachers’ associations.
As Ms. Yu noted, in Singapore, teachers are regarded as “nation builders” and hold a place of deep respect in society. She expressed confidence that Singapore’s most outstanding educators will be able to share their achievements in teaching and character education with colleagues from around the world at the forum.
