Meeting with the first Secretary for education of the Chinese Embassy

On 26 September 2018, a meeting was held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Moscow between Evgeny Baranovsky, Co-founder and Director of the UK-based non-profit company World Sustainable Development Foundation Limited, and Mr. Mei Hancheng, First Secretary for Education Affairs at the Chinese Embassy.

The discussion focused on opportunities for international cooperation in school education, including professional exchange between teachers from different countries. Mr. Hancheng highlighted China’s well-developed system of supplementary education and expressed a strong interest in expanding bilateral formats of professional dialogue.

The parties agreed to organise a teacher training programme in China on the topic:
“Pedagogical Technologies: Tools of the Modern Educator,”
as well as to launch Chinese language courses led by experienced educators from China, hosted by an international professional development platform.

Particular attention was given to cultural and artistic exchange.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to co-organise an
international competition for music and visual arts teachers,
along with discussions on the possibility of mutual educational visits by schoolchildren and educators.

Evgeny Baranovsky gratefully accepted an invitation to visit the city of Nanjing starting from 20 October 2018 to participate in the National Conference “Modernity and Tradition,” to be held at Jiangsu Second Normal University.
The visit will include meetings with Chinese colleagues and an introduction to China’s education system and cultural heritage.
