On April 12, 2019, in New Delhi, representatives of the organizing committee of the World Forum of the Best Teachers (WBTF) met with Charu Pragya, youth leader, spokesperson, and official representative of the national political party Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha.
Under the leadership of Ms. Pragya, the party’s youth wing is actively engaged in issues concerning young people, as well as the rights of women and children. During the meeting, Ms. Pragya noted that India’s education system remains fragmented, which negatively impacts the overall quality of schooling. In her view, the participation of Indian teachers in WBTF will give a significant boost to the development of school education across the country.
Party representatives emphasized that quality education is the foundation of India’s future and a key driver of national progress.
The parties discussed potential forms of cooperation between the youth wing and the WBTF organizing committee. Ms. Pragya expressed the youth wing’s readiness to support the forum in India, assist in presenting the WBTF initiative to the Ministry of Education, and help disseminate information about the forum through Indian media and partner networks.
